24 March, 2026 (Davao City, Davao del Sur) β€” The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) Davao joined the celebration of Davao City ’s fourth anniversary as an insurgency-free zone. Held under the theme β€œMagpabiling Mabinantayon, Pakusgan ang Kultura sa Seguridad, Kalinaw, ug Kalamboan sa Komunidad,” the event highlighted the city ’s continued transition toward lasting peace and sustainable development. β€œPeace is a shared responsibility, ” said Atty. Jonah Presto, Acting Head of the City Mayor’s Office–Peace 911 and a member of LAB Davao, as she underscored the success of Peace 911 initiatives. A key component of these efforts is the ongoing processing of amnesty applications for β€œFriends Rescued” (FRs)β€”former rebels who have chosen to reintegrate into society.

Atty. Presto emphasized that maintaining peace and order requires constant vigilance and collective commitment. β€œIt calls on all of us to remain vigilant and to work together, ” she added.

The commemoration was graced by Davao City 2nd District Congressman Omar Duterte, whose presence highlighted the strong collaboration among local government units and various sectors in sustaining the city ’s security and stability.

Also present was BGen. Christopher M. Diaz, INF (GSC) PA, Brigade Commander of the 1003rd Infantry (Raptor) Brigade and a primary member of LAB Davao. He expressed full support for the Peace 911 mission and described Davao City ’s success in addressing insurgency as exemplary and worthy of emulation by other cities.

The partnership among the National Amnesty Commission (NAC), through LAB Davao, the City Mayor’s Office (CMO), Peace 911, and the 1003rd Infantry Brigade remains vital in advancing the government’s amnesty program. The board emphasized that these collaborative efforts and legal frameworks are essential to sustaining the country ’s comprehensive peace initiatives.
