05-06 March 2026 (Catarman, Northern Samar) – In a major step toward peace and reconciliation, the Local Amnesty Board (LAB) of Catbalogan, Samarβ€”in partnership with the 803rd Infantry “Peacemaker” Brigadeβ€”successfully conducted a two-day orientation and intake session for 279 β€œFriends Rescued” (FRs) from the 19th, 20th, 43rd, and 78th Infantry Battalions.

The activity was attended by top officials of the 803rd Brigade, including Brigade Commander BGen. Carmelito Pangatungan and Deputy Brigade Commander Col. Ericson Rosana.

During the session, the LAB Secretariat provided a comprehensive overview of the government’s amnesty program. They emphasized the upcoming March 13, 2026, application deadline for former members of the CPP-NPA-NDF.

The participants took their formal oaths of allegiance before lawyers from the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO). Additionally, 13 Safe Conduct Passes (SCPs) were issued to FRs who had previously filed their amnesty applications.
