02-11 March 2026 (Panay Region) – From 02 March up until 11 March, the Secretariat of the Local Amnesty Board in Iloilo (LAB Iloilo) facilitated mass intakes of applications from amnesty across the Panay region in anticipation of the deadlines for filing on March 4, 2026 for members of the Rebolusyonaryong Partido ng Manggagawa ng Pilipinas/Revolutionary Proletarian Army/Alex Boncayao Brigade (RPMP-RPA-ABB) and March 13, 2026 for former members of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF).

Last March 2-3, applicants from the KAPATIRAN availed of the amnesty program and expressed their full commitment to returning to the folds of society. OPAPRU Area Coordinator Mr. Romulo del Rosario highlighted the importance of cooperating with the government in light of existing efforts to safeguard peace and security within the region.

On March 4, an additional 7 applicants submitted their applications to the LAB Iloilo through the assistance of the ORP both in the Capiz Rehabilitation Center and at the Iloilo City Hall of Justice. This marked the culmination of the application window for members of the RPMP-RPA-ABB under Proclamation No. 403.

Just recently, last March 11, former members of the CPP-NPA-NDF also applied for amnesty at the Aklan Tourism and Training Center, just in time before the lapse of the two-year period for applying under Proclamation No. 404.

To formalize the applicants’ reintegration, Pros. Flosemer Chris Gonzales administered their oaths. Similarly, the LAB Iloilo, in conducting the intake activities, maintained close coordination with the Office of the Regional Prosecutor (ORP), the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Philippine Army (PA), the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU), and the local government units of Aklan and Iloilo.

This series of applications underscores the commitment of authorities and various agencies to foster peace and unity within Panay.
