16-18 February 2026 (Silvino Lobos & Pambujan, Northern Samar) – The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) of Catbalogan, in partnership with the 19th Infantry β€œCommando” Battalion, processed a record 175 amnesty applications during a recent outreach in Northern Samar. The mission served β€˜Friends Rescued’ (FRs) from the remote barangays of Ynaguingayan, Senonogan, and Igot in Pambujan, as well as Brgy. Gusaran in Silvino Lobos.

To reach these distant communities, the LAB Secretariat, the OPAPRU Special Project Team (SPT), and the 19th IB traveled by pump boat, eventually transforming local chapels into makeshift orientation and processing centers. After comprehensive orientations on the program’s significance, 175 individuals formally filed their applications with the assistance of the OPAPRU-SPT.

This initiative underscores the government’s sincere commitment to peace and reconciliation. For the team involved, the mission transcended duty; it was driven by a passion to reach the country’s most remote areas and support those affected by the CPP-NPA-NDF.
