3 February, 2026 (Labo, Camarines Norte) β€” The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) of Albay conducted an Amnesty Orientation for β€œFriends Rescued” (FRs) at the Labo Municipal Police Station (MPS) in Brgy. Malasugui, Labo, Camarines Norte, which resulted in four new applications. The activity was carried out in close coordination with the Labo MPS, headed by PLtCol Andy O. Rosero, OIC, and with the assistance of the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) – Labo District, represented by Atty. Franklin Suyat, who administered the subscription of the applications.

LAB Albay also visited the Labo District Jail for the second time, following last year’s visit, to determine whether the identified Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs), who are members of the CPP-NPA-NDF, had considered applying for amnesty. An orientation was conducted to refresh and reinforce their understanding of the benefits of the amnesty program. However, they declined to submit their applications. Nonetheless, best efforts were exerted, and it is acknowledged that the government, through NAC-LAB Albay, has extended its full support in offering them a second chance.

The LAB Secretariat also paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Antonio Suhitado Jr. at the Provincial Peace and Development Office to discuss future collaboration in identifying and gathering FRs in Camarines Norte who have not yet applied for amnesty. The initiative aims to encourage them to submit their applications before the program concludes on 13 March 2026.
