10 February, 2026 (Cotabato City, Cotabato) β€” The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) of Cotabato has conducted a case conference as part of the continuing evaluation of amnesty applications filed by members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), including several Base Commanders, two mayors from the Special Geographic Areas (SGA), and a former rebel affiliated with the CPP–NPA–NDF.

The activity forms part of the continuing implementation of the government’s peace commitments under the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) and its Annexes, which recognize normalization, reconciliation, and reintegration as vital components of sustainable peace in the Bangsamoro.

The case conference is a very important step in the amnesty process, allowing the Board to carefully review records, verify compliance with documentary requirements, and recommends appropriate decision on amnesty applications. The activity underscores the government’s sustained commitment to ensuring a fair, orderly, and efficient processing of applications.

As of the latest data, 991 MILF members have formally filed their applications for amnesty; one MP Members have already been granted amnesty by the President late last year.

The Commission reminds all qualified applicants that the deadline for filing of amnesty applications is on 4 March. At this time, there is no certainty regarding any possible extension of the application period.

MILF members who intend to avail of the amnesty program are strongly encouraged to complete and submit their applications within the remaining period to avoid being excluded from the process.

The amnesty program remains a cornerstone of the government’s efforts to promote lasting peace, reconciliation, and reintegration, providing former combatants the opportunity to fully return to civilian life and contribute to community development.
