30 January, 2026 (Ormoc City, Leyte) β The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) of Tacloban successfully conducted its Amnesty Orientation and Application Intake at the Liga Function Hall in Ormoc City, recording its largest single intake to date with a total of 127 new applicants.
The success of this activity was made possible through the collective efforts and strong inter-agency collaboration of partner institutions, namely the City Government of Tacloban, the City Government of Ormoc, the Ormoc City Police Office, the 802nd Brigade, the 93rd Infantry Battalion, and Uswag Sinirangan Bisayas.
Legal assistance was provided by the Tacloban City Legal Office and the Public Attorneyβs Office (PAO), which each deployed two lawyers and one legal staff member. The Tacloban City Legal Office was represented by Atty. Mary Rose A. Tisado-Irlandez and Atty. Nicole D. Monge, while the PAO deployed Atty. Clint Octavius E. Labtic, Atty. Leover M. Burato, and their legal staff member, Ms. Honey Eugenie Ayuban-Burato, who rendered valuable legal services during the intake. Notably, Atty. Labtic explained the crimes covered and not covered by the amnesty program in the vernacular language (Bisaya), ensuring that applicants clearly understood the process and its legal implications.
LAB Tacloban extends its sincere appreciation to all partner agencies and stakeholders whose cooperation and commitment made this milestone activity possible. Together, we continue to advance accessible justice and meaningful opportunities for reintegration within our communities.
