23 January, 2026 (Impasug-ong, Bukidnon) β As the National Amnesty Commission (NAC) marks the countdown to 50 DAYS until the March 13, 2026 deadline for receiving amnesty applications from former members of the CPP NPA NDF under Proclamation No. 404, the Local Amnesty Board of Cagayan de Oro (LAB CDO) conducts another round of Orientation and Application Intake at the HQ of the 8th Infantry (Dependable) Battalion PA in Impasug-ong, Bukidnon on January 23, 2026.
The Orientation was conducted following the invitation from the Provincial Social Welfare & Development Office (PSWDO) of Bukidnon as part of their ongoing information and education campaign for twenty-four (24) former members of the CPP-NPA-NDF who are participating in the Localized Deradicalization Program of the Provincial Government of Bukidnon. These βFriends Rescuedβ (FRs) who were referred by the different Philippine Army and Philippine National Police (PNP) units in the province, are currently being housed at the Balay Ta Kalinaw (Bukidnonβs Halfway House) for the entire duration of the program.
During the activity, a total of Sixty-Seven (67) FRs coming from the areas of San Fernando, Calabugao, Impasug-ong and Malabog filed their applications for amnesty. This brings the total of applications received from the province at Five Hundred Six (506) or Sixty Percent (60%) of LAB CDOβs Total Applications received, which has now reached a total of Eight Hundred Fifty-Six (856). This is a significant 300% increase from the figure recorded in October 2025, buoyed by the issuance of Safe Conduct Passes (SCPs) and the announcement of Sixteen (16) Amnesty Approvals from the Office of the President.
The NAC continues to intensify intake activities as the deadlines for the four (4) Proclamations draw near. LAB CDO will conduct more amnesty caravans in the remaining days of the program in the hopes that βno man is left behindβ.
