11 February 2026 (Catbalogan, Samar) – The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) of Catbalogan, Samar, participated in a hybrid briefing on Local Peace Engagement (LPE) and the Provincial Transformational Program (PTP) to Sustain the Peace at the 8th Infantry β€œStormtroopers” Division (8ID) of the Philippine Army, Camp General Vicente Lukban.

Major General Edgardo Y. De Leon (Ret), OPAPRU Regional Adviser on Peace and Security for Region 8, conducted the briefing.

Key attendees included Major General Peter Burgonio, Commander of the 8th Infantry Division; Ms. Imelda C. Bonifacio, Program Manager of AMU Eastern Visayas OPAPRU; the OPAPRU Special Project Team (SPT) of OPAPRU, and the LAB Catbalogan Secretariat. Representatives from 801st, 802nd and 803rd Infantry Brigades, along with their respective subordinate battalions, also joined the session via zoom.

The LAB Secretariat was honored to participate in the session, where they were apprised of the latest updates regarding Localized Peace Engagement (LPE) initiatives, particularly those focused on the provinces of Samar, Eastern Samar, and Northern Samar.
