27 February, 2026 (Ilocos Sur) – The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) La Union recently conducted a three-day orientation and application drive in Ilocos Sur, offering a path to reintegration for former rebels. The initiative saw a strong turnout, with 20 individuals applying in Sta. Maria on the first day, followed by 46 applicants in Sta. Cruz. Beyond new applications, the board issued 22 Safe Conduct Passes to prior applicants, ensuring their protected participation while their cases are processed.

This multi-agency effort was supported by the AFP, OPAPRU, DOJ, IBP, and the LGUs of Sta. Maria and Sta. Cruz. With the application deadline approaching, the LAB Secretariat is intensifying its outreach to ensure all eligible individuals can secure their second chance at peace.
