12 March, 2026 (Bulan, Sorsogon) β The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) of Albay conducted an Amnesty Orientation and processing of applications for supporters and former members of the CPP-NPA-NDF in Bulan, Sorsogon. The activity aimed to provide applicants with guidance on the governmentβs amnesty program and assist them in completing the required documentation, offering them an opportunity to formally reintegrate into society and begin anew.
The activity was conducted in coordination with Hon. Romeo A. Gordola, Municipal Mayor of Bulan, and the 22nd Infantry Battalion (Philippine Army) headed by LTC Erman Ryan C. Dalope, Commanding Officer. Through this initiative, LAB Albay successfully received a total of 96 amnesty applications, including two newly surrendered regular member and supporter of the CPPβNPAβNDF. The Public Attorney’s Office in Bulan also extended its support by administering the subscription of the applicantsβ documents, ensuring that the application process was properly facilitated and legally documented. In addition, a representative from the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) was present during the activity and also provided assistance to applicants in properly accomplishing their application forms.
The successful conduct of the activity highlights the continued collaboration among local government units, security forces, and partner agencies in promoting the governmentβs peace and reconciliation initiatives. Such coordinated efforts play a vital role in encouraging former rebels and their supporters to embrace peaceful reintegration and contribute to building safer and more progressive communities.
