07 January 2026 (Calbayog, Samar) – The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) of Catabalogan, Samar, conducted a comprehensive orientation on the National Amnesty Program for personnel at the Calbayog City District Jail in Tomalon Estate, Gadgaran. Led by Acting Jail Warden JINSP Romeo C. Diola, the session focused on identifying and assisting eligible Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) under Proclamation No. 404.

Following the orientation, an interactive open forum allowed personnel to raise clarifying questions and share concerns regarding the application and processing of amnesty.

This orientation aligns with the existing Memorandum of Agreement between the National Amnesty Commission (NAC) and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP). The partnership aims to streamline the applications process for PDL who are former members of the CPP-NPA-NDF and whose offenses were committed in pursuit of their political beliefs.
