11 March 2026 (Las Navas, Northern Samar) β Advancing the momentum of the peace process, the Local Amnesty Board (LAB) of Catbalogan, Samar, in collaboration with the 20th Infantry ‘We Lead’ Battalion, conducted an amnesty orientation and intake for 67 ‘Friends Rescued’ (FRs) in Brgy. San Isidro.
To reach the remote area, the LAB Secretariat, the Special Project Team (SPT) from the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU), and the 20th IB traveled by pump boat.
Key attendees included Hon. Minda M. Tan, Vice Mayor of Las Navas; PSSg Jeson Q. Olegario, Operations PNCO of the Las Navas Municipal Police Station; 1st Lieutenant Norvin A. Dacusin, Company Commander of Alpha Company; and Major Mayford A. Ganar, Executive Officer of the 20th Infantry Battalion.
Following the orientations, 67 FRs formally filed their amnesty applications after gaining a clearer understanding of the programβs significance. The intake process was facilitated with the support of the OPAPRU Special Project Team. This initiative underscores the government’s sincere commitment to peace and reconciliation, particularly in Northern Samar.
